I am very sensitive to spaces and places. Through my photography I am able to recreate reflections of my environment that fluctuate between the real and surreal. My creations are composites of multiple images, yet our brain effortlessly joins them into one scene. Although appearing as an instant in time, the images represent a series of moments harmoniously strung together. By expanding and distorting the scene which I photograph, it allows me to guide the viewer through the image, raising questions over one’s sense perception. While my photography primarily aims to explore the boundaries of what a lens can do, it also serves as a personal reflection on my life and the relationships and changes that shape it. As such the work expresses my maternal push and pull with my sons, as the viewer gets guided in and out of the image. My hope is to continue to explore these topics and the boundaries of the lens.
